I was born and raised in California and received my Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Berkeley in 1980.
Arabian horses were my first passion; I trained and competed with my 2 in 50-mile, long-distance endurance riding events while in California. I moved to Utah in 1986, where I met and married my husband Kip.
I have taken instruction from Donna for 20 years. I have also successfully trained in competitive obedience and titled many of my own dogs in AKC Obedience, Conformation and herding events. I’ve been a member of Intermountain Therapy Animals for 16 years and have loved my experiences there. Adoption work is also very important to me, and I have worked primarily with unwanted Border Collies.
I have taught puppy and general obedience classes at local clubs and other training facilities, as well as for private clients. Recently, I was asked to help develop a puppy socialization class with Donna for Willow Creek Pet Center, where we provide a very safe, controlled and positive learning environment. It is so important to introduce and familiarize young puppies with other puppies and new experiences in ways that help the puppy learn to respond and interact appropriately and without fear.
We are having a lot of fun in these new classes-it is so rewarding to work with the owners and their puppies and watch them gain more and more confidence each week.
